@evanmceachran went out with a bang at the final @fisfreestyle Skiing slopestyle World Cup of the 2022-23 campaign on Saturday in Silvaplana, Switzerland. Thanks to his spectacular performance, the Canadian not only won the 🥈 but also earned his first podium finish of the season.

Also in the men’s final, @morkzzz finished seventh with a score of 90.00.

In the women’s competition, @megan.oldhamm was the only Canadian to advance to the final. Although she had finished first in the qualifiers, the runner-up world champion faltered slightly on her last descents, finishing fifth with 85.75 points.

Evan McEachran est parti en fanfare lors de la dernière Coupe du monde FIS de ski acrobatique slopestyle de la campagne 2022-23, samedi à Silvaplana, en Suisse. Grâce à sa performance spectaculaire, le Canadien a non seulement remporté la 🥈 mais a également décroché son premier podium de la saison.

Toujours dans la finale masculine, Mark Hendrickson a terminé septième avec une note de 90,00.

Is there a better place to end the season than on

Is there a better place to end the season than on a podium? For @marionthenault and @emile_nadeau13 , definitely not! The two earned themselves 🥉 at the @fisfreestyle Skiing World Cup Aerials Finals in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Thénault gave it her all in the qualifying round on Sunday, and was provisionally placed second early in the day. Despite a trickier jump in the first final that earned her 81.07 points and the ranking of sixth in the round, she bounced back in the super final with a score of 93.66 – good enough for third place, and her fifth medal of the season.

While Marion Thénault found herself on the World Cup podium for the seventh time in her career, today’s podium finish was a first for Émile Nadeau.

@miha_freestyle also competed in the first final on Sunday and finished ninth, while @aex__ski finished 14th in the qualifying round.

Y a-t-il une meilleure façon de terminer la saison que sur un podium ? Pour Marion Thénault et Émile Nadeau Ski Acrobatique, certainement pas ! Les deux se sont mérités des 🥉 lors de la finale de la Coupe du monde FIS de ski acrobatique à Almaty, au Kazakhstan.

Thénault a donné tout ce qu'elle avait dans la ronde de qualification le dimanche, et était provisoirement classée deuxième au début de la journée. Malgré un saut plus délicat dans la première finale qui lui a valu 81,07 points et la sixième place dans la ronde, elle a rebondi dans la super finale avec un pointage de 93,66 - assez bon pour la troisième place et sa cinquième médaille de la saison.

Alors que Marion Thénault est montée sur le podium de la Coupe du monde pour la septième fois de sa carrière, le podium d'aujourd'hui était une première pour Émile Nadeau.

Miha Fontainr a également participé à la première finale dimanche et a terminé neuvième, tandis qu'Alexandre Duchaine SKI Acrobatique a terminé 14e lors de la ronde de qualification.

At the @fisfreestyle Skiing World Cup slopestyle event in Tignes (French Alps), @megan.oldhamm (90.00) earned herself a 🥉 to take home. The Ontario native finished the competition behind Swiss national and World Champion Mathilde Gremaud (96.25), and Norway’s Johanne Killi (95.25).

Oldham excelled in her first of two runs in the final. She was very clean on the first two jumps and on the rails.

This is Oldham’s second World Cup podium this season, after winning the Copper Mountain Big Air in December. The 21-year-old skier also did the double in slopestyle, and Big Air at the prestigious X-Games in Aspen earlier this season.

@brynnjohnston7 was the first to miss the cut-off for a spot in the finals and finished the day in 11th place; Alberta’s @rhackss finished 18th.

In the men’s competition, @evanmceachran (82.25) and @maxmoffattt (64.25) finished in 10th and 13th place respectively.

With career victory 80, Kingsbury gets to take home two more pieces of crystal: for a career total of 24.

Fellow Team Canada skier @elliot_vaillancourt had a strong showing and finished his day in fifth place – matching his best World Cup result – after being eliminated by the eventual bronze medalist.

@gabdouch10 and @ju_viel both were halted in the round of 16, and finished the day in 10th and 13th place respectively.

Kingsbury not only won the 🥇, but he also did it while performing a cork 720 truck driver for the very first time in a competition.

@megan.oldhamm won her second medal of the World Championships in the Big Air contest, the final event of the competition 🥉.

Also in Big Air, her compatriots @noah.pm and @teal_harle competed in the men’s event, finishing eighth and tenth.

The 🇨🇦 delegation to Bakuriani concludes the World Championships with a total of six medals, bringing the country’s total to 107 since the inaugural event in Tignes, France, in 1986.
