Oldham Secures 4th World Championship Medal

Calgary, AB- The world’s best Freeski Slopestyle athletes took to the masterfully crafted Corvatsch course, featuring massive jumps, challenging riders to go big or go home. For Team Canada, Corvatsch feels like a second home—the team has trained on variations of this course multiple times per year for the last 12 years. However, for the World Championships, the features were supersized to deliver a spectacular show for the crowd.

The original schedule, which had men’s qualifications set for March 19, women’s on March 20, and finals on March 22, was adjusted due to anticipated inclement weather on the 22nd. As a result, both men’s and women’s qualifications were held on March 19, with the finals moved up to March 21.

Megan Oldham lead the Canadian crew, securing a bronze medal with a score of 70.63 on her first run, making this her 4th World Championship medal. Switzerland’s Mathilde Gremaud defended her slopestyle World Championship title in her home country with a dominant score of 85.65. Lara Wolf of Austria came second with a 73.33.

On the men’s side, Evan McEachran put down a solid second run but finished 12th in the highly competitive men’s field.

Canadian Results:

  • Skye Clarke – 17th
