Calgary, AB-In an impressive performance at the Laxx Freestyle Slopestyle competition, Canada’s Megan Oldham clinched a silver medal with a score of 72.80. Finishing just behind China’s Eileen Gu, Oldham celebrated her return to the podium after a challenging year-long recovery from injury.
Reflecting on her achievement, Oldham shared her excitement:
“It was an awesome day. The course in Laxx has been insane, with lots of technical features. It’s great to land a run that I’m soaked on, so I’m really happy. It was a really tricky course, and having all the transition features is new to me. So I tried to just take some of my normal tricks and really push my comfort zone, trying to do them on the transitions. It feels super good to be back on the podium. I think this one’s extra special, just given how long it’s been since I’ve been on a podium. So I’m really happy.”
Joining her in the finals, teammate Olivia Asselin secured a 7th-place finish, while Skye Clarke, another Canadian competitor, placed 13th.
On the men’s side, Canadians Evan McEachran, Max Moffatt, and Noah Porter Maclennan also delivered solid performances, finishing 4th, 9th, and 13th respectively. Other male athletes representing Freestyle Canada included Aidan Mulvihill 34th and Jeremy Gagne 38th .
