Freestyle Canada Big Air Team Wraps Up Kreischberg World Cup

The Freestyle Canada Big Air team competed at the Kreischberg World Cup this weekend, where rookie Aidan Mulvihill placed 21st out of 50 competitors with a score of 161.75. This marks his third top-two-thirds finish in his debut World Cup season after earning his spot by winning the 2023-24 NorAm tour. The result shows steady progress as he gains experience on the international stage.

Dylan Deschamps, meanwhile, was sidelined after jamming his lower leg on a hard landing earlier in the week. Despite hopes of being competition-ready, he was unable to start.

The Kreischberg World Cup provided another important learning opportunity for Mulvihill as he continues to build his World Cup résumé. The team now looks ahead to the Laax, SUI Slopestyle World Cup, where they will compete against each other and athletes from the other four Freestyle disciplines for limited qualification spots at the 2025 World Championships in St. Moritz. With a finite number of entries available, the competition within and between disciplines is expected to be fierce.

Upcoming Competitions

The Slopestyle team returns to action in Laax, SUI, from January 14-17.

The Aerial team is set to take on their first World Cup of the 2024-25 season in Lake Placid, USA, on January 18-19.

Moguls will be back in the spotlight in Waterville Valley, USA, on January 24-25.

Halfpipe, along with Slopestyle and Big Air, rejoins the circuit in Aspen, USA, from January 30 to February 6, immediately following X-Games 2025.
