Freestyle Canada Big Air Team Competes at Inaugural Big Air Klagenfurt

January 5, 2025 – Calgary, AB

Freestyle Canada’s Big Air team made their return this weekend at the inaugural Big Air Klagenfurt FIS Freeski World Cup event in Austria. Athletes Aidan Mulvihill and Dylan Deschamps represented Canada, finishing 36th and 46th, respectively, in a competition filled with world-class talent.

Although neither athlete advanced to the finals, both delivered promising performances in their first competition following an extended holiday break as they look at building momentum for the rest of the season.

The Klagenfurt event, held at Wörthersse Stadium against the stunning backdrop of Austria’s mountainous terrain, was celebrated with tremendous fanfare. Spectators gathered to watch the world’s top freestylers showcase their skills, making the inaugural competition, and the only Big Air Soccer stadium event of the season, a memorable one.

Freestyle Canada’s Big Air team will now set their sights on the next stop of the World Cup circuit in Kreischberg, Austria, taking place January 9–10.

As the season gains momentum, the Canadian team remains focused on continuous improvement and achieving strong results on the global stage in preparation for the FIS Freestyle and Freeski World Championships 2025 in St. Moritz Engadin, SUI from March 16th-30th.
