Evan McEachran, a native of Oakville, ON, has been on skis since the age of one. McEachran adapted to the sport quickly and became a downhill racer, however, he’d always sneak off into the park to explore the more adventurous side of the sport.
One season, McEachran recalls breaking five pairs of race skis while attempting to hit rails. He could also be found building several jumps at the bottom of courses to practice his air sense.
By the age of nine, he was entered into a freestyle program where he competed in moguls, slopestyle and halfpipe. At the age of 11, McEachran was recruited to the Ontario provincial team before moving on to the national slopestyle team in 2012 as one of the youngest members in the history of the program.
Today, McEachran holds experience in X Games and World Cup events and was also the first winner of the SLVSH Cup tournament in Australia – a new event where skiers compete in head-to-head match-ups where the skiers pick the tricks and both have to complete them.
