When did you start skiing? How did you get started?
My whole family, including my grandparents, loves skiing, so I was encouraged to try it as early as possible. I started when I was just 3 years old on Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. At age 4, we moved to Squamish, BC, and I started ski lessons in Whistler. I quickly fell in love with skiing because I could try new things and have tons of fun with my friends.
What inspired you to get into freestyle skiing? How old were you? What club did you start with?
Whenever I was on the hill, whether in lessons or with family, I would always be trying spins and flips off the side hits—I never skied in a straight line! My parents and ski instructors noticed this and asked if I wanted to try the Whistler Freestyle Development program at age 10. I said “yes,” no questions asked. It was so much fun, learning new tricks, and being creative in the park… I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I moved up to the Freestyle Whistler Club at age 12 and competed first within the province, then nationwide, before moving through North America. I made the BC Team at age 17. After one year on the BC Team, I was asked to join the NextGen program at age 18.
What are your skiing career goals?
My goals are to earn multiple X Games medals, podium at the Olympic Winter Games, and inspire the next generation of Canadian skiers!
How do you spend your time off the slopes?
I usually spend my “non-skiing time” at the Airhouse (a trampoline facility in my hometown of Squamish), bouncing on a trampoline and learning new tricks!
What are some fun facts about you that the average person wouldn’t know?
I love skateboarding and am a huge gamer 🙂
What is your favourite result (to date)?
I’m super stoked on my 2nd place at the 2023 Canada Games—the whole event was a blast!
Shout-outs?
A big shout-out to everyone who supported me over the years!
