Freestyle Canada athlete @dylandeschamps_ secured

Freestyle Canada athlete @dylandeschamps_ secured a bronze medal in Big Air at the start of the 2024-2025 FIS Freeski season in Chur, Switzerland. The event took place at a city venue with a scaffolding ramp, creating an exciting atmosphere with spotlights, a light show, and music.

Deschamps, who entered the finals as the second seed, overcame a crash on his first jump. He bounced back with scores of 86.50 and 85.75 on his second and third runs, respectively, for a combined total of 172.25. This is Deschamps’ second World Cup podium finish, following his gold medal last season on the same venue. @mr.mulvihill , also competing for Canada, finished 22nd in the event.

@brendanmackay , who squeaked into the finals as the 10th-place qualifier, had a point to prove at the 2025 Cardrona HP World Cup bringing home his first @fisfreestyle World Cup Gold Medal since 2022. Sitting in second place behind fellow Canadian @andrew_longino after his first run, Mackay pulled out all the stops on his second. A clean run featuring massive amplitude and technical tricks, including a switch left alley-oop double cork 900 and a switch left double cork 1080, earned him a winning score of 90.00 points. Andrew Longino returned to the venue where he made his World Cup debut and also reached the podium finishing 3rd.

@rachaelkarker made her return to competition, win

@rachaelkarker made her return to competition, winning bronze with a score of 87 at the @fisfreestyle Skiing Cardrona World Cup. The event also marked a personal milestone for Karker, who celebrated her 27th birthday on the day. “I’m so happy to be able to come back to competing and end up with a podium," Karker said. "It really helps me feel confident going into these next two years. The past week was challenging, but I’m very happy with my performance and I’m excited to get this season going!”

Karker’s bronze marks her return to form after an extended break following the 2023 FIS Halfpipe season. @itsamysaywhat also reached the finals finishing in 6th. Other Female Canadians competing included @morozumi._.emma, @cassiesharpe , and @dillanglennie .
