Sascha grew up in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountain, in Bragg Creek, Alberta. While he started skiing at two years old, it was only one of many sports at which he excelled. It wasn’t until getting the opportunity to watch a World Cup live at Canada Olympic Park in 2010 that his passion for freestyle skiing was ignited. The sport was a natural fit that drew on his athletic talent.
Sascha skied with the Southern Alberta Freestyle Ski Club until joining the Alberta Team in 2017 and the NextGen Halfpipe Team in 2018. In his first year as a National Team Athlete, Sascha met success early with a 6th place finish in his first World Cup at his home hill in Calgary. He has made finals in all of his World Cup starts to date.
With two knee surgeries in the last two years, Sascha is eager to get back at it, stronger and more focussed than ever.
