Competings against professionals at the 2015 World Skiing Invitational
Sam McKeown started skiing at the age of 12 at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary thanks to his parents and two good friends that he always would ride with – Willy and Noah.
McKeown was drawn to skiing after watching much older freeskiers completing tricks and thinking it was cool. It lead him and his friends to rent skis and to try it out himself. By 2016 and only six years after he first put on skis, Sam was named to the first ever park and pipe NextGen team.
When he’s not on the slopes, Sam enjoys spending time with his friends, going to the gym, and being active while competing in various sports. Sam was also an avid competitive hockey player for nine years before he started skiing.
In 2016, McKeown was named to the inaugural Park & Pipe NextGen Team.
