Elena started skiing when she was 4 years old. Her dad skied when he was younger and brought it on as a family activity. Elena immediately fell in love with it! Skiing was a way to spend time with her family and have fun.
Elena started freestyle skiing at age 7 at the Silver Star Freestyle Club program with her older brother. Her brother is one of the reasons why Elena is where she is today: she always wanted to be better than him or be able to do the tricks that he was doing. He also pushed her to try new things. She remembers the day when she was skiing with his group and they were all hitting a medium jump, something Elena wanted to do as well. In the end, she got a bloody nose but it didn’t matter because if her brother could do it, so could she!
Since joining the National Team in 2016, Elena has been very successful on the World Cup circuit where she was deemed as Big Air World Champion for the 2018-2019 season. Elena also has two World Cup podiums under her belt and is looking to qualify for her first Olympic Games.
