Charlie started skiing when she was 2 years old at Mont-Orford in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. In 2009, she and her family moved to Lac-Beauport, near the Acrobatx Yves LaRoche center. Her father, Nicolas Fontaine, competed in four Olympic Winter Games as an athlete and has been a freestyle ski jumping coach for several years. Charlie made her debut with the Relais Freestyle Ski Club at the age of 5, participating in the disciplines of Moguls, Aerials and Slopestyle.

In 2019, Charlie joined the Quebec Freestyle Aerial team. In 2022-23 she had an exceptional season with four podiums on the NorAm circuit and a 3rd-place NorAm Grand Prix finish. She rounded off the season with a bronze medal in the team competition at the FIS Junior World Ski Championships in Austria.

Charlie, now 17, has earned a place on the National Aerial Team for the 2023-24 season, where she is very proud to join her brother Miha.
