Evan Dermott started skiing at 4 years old and quickly developed a love of hitting any jump he could find. At 6 years old, Evan made his way onto the Holimont FLITE Team where he learned the fundamentals of jumping from his coaches, who were former World Cup aerialists. He loved the thrill of competing in moguls, aerials, and slopestyle and pushing himself to try bigger and better tricks, but his true love would prove to be in the air.

At 10, Evan decided that jumping was the way to go and focused his efforts on aerials. He continued to compete and train in the US, joining the Elite Aerial Development Program in Lake Placid, NY, at age 13. At 15, Evan left the US and joined the talented athletes on the Quebec Aerial Team. After a successful first season with the team, Evan was named to the Canadian National Next Gen Team for the following year. When you start on a small local hill, it is hard to believe that the fundamental skills you learn in your ski school program can open up an amazing and wide world of competition and friendship. To date, skiing has taken Evan to locations in Canada, the US, Italy, and Finland and helped him make friends worldwide.

Evan is happiest putting new skills on snow and looks forward to continued travel, competition, and comradery that comes with skiing as a Team Canada athlete.
